Twisty Swirl!

Dixie, at Yellow Dog Knitting, has featured MAKE.DO REALIZE SPORT for the project in her latest Video Workshop! A one-skein project called Twisty Swirl, it's perfect for fall and winter knitting, and for holiday knitting.

What!? You know the holidays are coming!!

Twisty_swirl_large
Knit in the round -- with an intentional twist -- and featuring an easily memorized lace pattern, Twisty Swirl is a quick knit resulting in a warm and cozy cowl.

I'll get stock uploaded ASAP. If you'd like to be notified of the next update by email, just let me know in the comments, or shoot off an email to [email protected]

Thanks!

Kate's Affections

I dyed some yarn for my friend Kate a while back for a Color Affection. She talked about some summer Caribbean-ish colors and I came up with these:

Cool Blue

She chose a yellow-gold to go with, and voila!

Of course, she had some unused yarn and thought it would be fun to make a coordinating CA for her daughter, so she chose some other colors and knit up a second version:

And, you know, because this is potentially one of those stories that never ends...

These were all knit using the hand-dyed sock/fingering yarn base that I call "BE." It's a soft yet durable 75% superwash merino/25% nylon blend.

Online sales coming soon; in the meantime, email me at [email protected] for info and/or requests and I'll do my best to accommodate your wishes!

WWKiP in Kaukauna!

That's different than WKRP in Cincinnati!  ;)

WWKiP = World Wide Knit in Public

The history of WWKiP can be found here. In a nutshell: it's the largest knitter-run event in the world, started in 2005 as a way for knitters to get out and discover each other, make connections, and enjoy each other's company!

WWKiP Day takes place during a specific week in June each year with local events organized all over the world. This year's dates are June 9th-17th.

WWKiP in Kaukauna

Saturday, June 9th, 2012 / 8 am - Noon
Downtown Kaukauna Farmer's Market

Participating KiPers who check in at the KC&T/Make.Do tent will receive a coupon for 20% off all future purchase of Make.Do items (in-store only) at KC&T through June 30th!

The market is located in the 2nd Street Parking Lot behind the 2nd Street shops @ US Hwy. 55. There's plenty of nearby parking. Seat is limited, so bring your own camp chair or blanket. The market is held rain or shine; KC&T will be open, so KiPers may meet there in the event of rain.

Make.Do and KC&T will be at the market most Saturdays for the season, starting June 9th and ending October 20th, featuring hot coffee and a variety of cold beverages, and an ever-changing selection of hand-dyed yarn!

Make.Do mini cards by MOO!

Yay MOO! (Follow that link for 10% off your first order.) I love these little things and have always wanted some of my own. Make.Do will be vending at the Kaukauna Farmers' Market with KC&T, and that seemed reason enough.  ;)
